I’m looking for a used/rebuilt Garrett GT1241 from a VW Gol or Parati 1.0t. Anyone have a line on sources, junkyards, parts dealers that might ship the USA?.

I’m pretty sure the 1.0T was a Brazil only car, so that is your best bet. I actually had no idea they made one untill this post, so they must be pretty rare.

hmm, that bodes poorly... I just want the turbo and new Garrett prices are outside of my project budget and I don’t want to mess with chinese eBay turbos :P first-gen Smart ForTwos use a GT12 family turbo too, but its not as adaptable to my use...

If it helps “Mercadolibre” (it’s like south america’s Ebay) has some replacement parts for the turbo and some aftermarket turbo kits, but I haven’t been able to find any used turbos from a VW Gol.

EDIT, they totally have used old turbos:

That one is for sale for US$400, you would have to find a way to contact the seller and ship it to the US though which might be a hassle.
